The almond tree is native to Iran and the surrounding Central Asia countries, and is widely cultivated all over the world. Sweet Almond Oil is obtained frmo the dried kernels of sweet almonds. It has been used historically in Ancient Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. However, it is recommended for people with skin condition to have a test on the skin first to ensure the oil does not aggravate their symptoms.
Sweet Almond Oil is a viscous oil with a fine texture that has a balanced absorption rate to be used as both a body oil or a massage oil for all skin types. It contains high Vitamin A and E, and it is highly nourishing and moisturizing and helps the skin to balance its loss and absorption of moisture. It is a popular vegetable oil in aromatherapy massage due its texture and absorption rate, as it is not an overly fast penetrating oil, allowing sufficient time for a comfortable massage.
